Art Fair on the Square

Hosted annually on the Capitol Square in downtown Madison, the Art Fair on the Square is one of the Midwest’s largest and most celebrated outdoor art festivals. The two-day event welcomes over 500 artists from across the country and attracts nearly 200,000 visitors each year. Guests enjoy fine art, live music, local food, and community activities in a vibrant and energetic downtown setting.

As a cornerstone community event, the Art Fair on the Square requires detailed coordination and precise execution. Its footprint spans the entire Capitol Square, demanding comprehensive planning for vendor load-in and load-out, crowd management, street closures, and city permitting.

For three years, Brothers Molloy Events has provided full-service event execution and operational support for this large-scale festival. Our team managed pre-event logistics, coordinated with city officials to secure necessary permits, and oversaw equipment and supply deliveries. On-site, we directed vendor setup, sponsor activations, stage and food court operations, and guest access points.

Throughout the weekend, Brothers Molloy Events led on-site staff teams handling traffic control, safety oversight, and communication between city departments, vendors, and festival organizers. Following the event, our team managed teardown, cleanup, and the return of all event materials, ensuring a smooth and efficient close-out for one of Wisconsin’s most iconic cultural gatherings.
